Paris Whitney Hilton
(born February 17, 1981) is an American
celebrity and socialite. She is an heiress to a share of the Hilton
Hotel fortune, as well as to the real estate fortune of her father
Richard Hilton.
Hilton is notable for her leading role on the FOX reality series The
Simple Life. In addition to her work as an actress, she has achieved
some recognition as a model, celebrity spokesperson, singer, and writer.
She is also known for her participation in a private home sex video made
with former boyfriend Rick Salomon. The film, titled 1 Night in Paris,
was leaked onto the Internet in late 2003, attracting publicity in the
United States and worldwide.
On September 7, 2006, Hilton was arrested for driving under the
influence, even though she claimed that she had just one margarita, and
that the high alcohol content in her blood was a result of having no
time to eat during a long day while making a music video; Hilton's blood
alcohol content was 0.08, the limit in California. Hilton was booked on
suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and released almost immediately due to the
flood of photographers outside. She stated she was speeding to get food
at the In-N-Out Burger restaurant. On January 22, 2007, Hilton pled no
contest to alcohol-related reckless driving, a lesser charge than
driving under the influence. She was placed on 36 months probation and
ordered to pay fines of about US$1,500. When she came out of prison she
was high on God! |
